Nice find in downtown Valpo! Out to dinner with friends tonight and they had been here before and we had not. Atmosphere and ambience is a busy and semi- loud with an open kitchen and the bar right in the middle of the dining room. The restaurant has an 80's vibe with unique retro named mixed drinks. Service was excellent and our server was friendly and attentive! Drinks were excellent and kudos to the mixologist! Food was very good and came out fast and hot. We will definitely be back!

First time here, and will certainly be back! Not pictured is the salt and pepper wings and they are dynamite! Liked the taco place here before, but Mixtape is even better!

First time here since it changed from Ricochet Tacos. Love the energy! The food was just amazing. You can feel the love that went into it. The elotas flatbread was surprisingly cruchy and full of flavor without being salty or an afterthought. My husband and I travel and eat out often. We were both very happy and well be returning. Our waitress Kylee C. was wonderful. She was very pleasant and attentive! Thank you for the lovely meal, Mixtape!

The Duke of Ricochet Tacos - A Margarita Monday Must! Ricochet Tacos in Valpo is our absolute go-to spot for margaritas and gourmet tacos, especially on those dreaded Mondays when most Mexican restaurants are closed. And let me tell you, being known as 'The Duke' of Ricochet Tacos on Yelp says it all. This visit was a spontaneous one, focused more on margaritas after a rough Monday at work. I decided to try the 'True Romance' taco, a menu item I can't believe I haven't had before. The flavor was out of this world - buffalo chicken, avocado, jalapeno cream cheese, ranch, and a sprinkle of spicy Cheetos on top. It tasted like the ultimate pub taco, and I was thoroughly impressed. Well done, Ricochet! My wife went for the 'California Love,' which has always been my go-to taco, and it never disappoints. Tara, our bartender, was fantastic as always - speedy, polite, and with an incredible memory for our special margarita orders. The bar was spotless and on point, and our food was ready in just 10 minutes after ordering. Yet again, Ricochet Tacos delivered a five-star evening filled with fantastic gourmet tacos and top-notch service. If you're looking for the perfect Margarita Monday spot, look no further. Ricochet is one of my go to places for dinner in Valpo. The tacos are beyond delicious, and truly unique. You can't get these tacos anywhere else. Same goes for their drink menu and their brunch. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there's plenty of room around the restaurant, so it never feels too crowded. The service is always efficient and the servers are always kind and helpful. 10/10!

This place is outstanding for the unusual "taco". If you're looking for traditional Mexican fare you won't want to stop here but if you're looking for out of this world flavor combos with a Mexican twist, this is the place for you. There is always a taco of the month, plenty of weekly specials, and drinks aplenty. The December special is the holiday inspired filthy animal (fried chicken + potato croquettes + elote + cheddar cheese + bacon + country gravy + fried onions + valentina + corn tortilla) and I could've eaten three of them! Be sure to take a friend so you can share plates and try them all.

Great tacos and wonderful cheese dip, but if you don't like it hot, make sure to ask for no peppers on top. All of the tacos are priced per taco, but you can get an outrageous variety of tacos. There are a few other items on the menu, but this is without a doubt a taco place. The sides are great too. There is a long, beautiful bar with ample seating for everyone and even a kids menu. The service is usually on point I've never had bad service at Ricochet. I highly recommend Ricochet tacos for anyone who is visiting Valpo, or for any locals that want to have a good taco! I just looked and they have an extensive list of quesadillas too. There are also taco salads and burritos in addition to a small brunch menu.

RICOCHET.... Food changes we noticed and have given feedback on to the managment - so they know. And now you will know. We love your place. We are regulars. Service is always 100%. You "had" what can only be described as the perfect dish, a/k/a the Uncle Rico... crunch, savory, sour, soothing... now that perfection has been marred by a strange change.... No beans?!? What?!? No more beans? In a Mexican inspired restaurant? Guacamole makes the dish cold instead of warm and does not go with an egg. Also, what's with the steak? It seems the steak previously was skirt steak or maybe sirloin? and is now flank steak?? Regardless, the current steak is less flavorful and tougher than your previous steak. CHIPS... these are your gatekeeper.. they are on every persons table and you stopped making house made chips! But more important you substituted with sub-par store chips (Tostitos?) They are OVERLY salty and too thin for guac or elote. If you insist on using "bought" chips..... there is only one I would ever consider good enough for a Mexican inspired restaurant. "El Ranchero" brand out of Chicago. They are very authentic and durable and even capable of being used in dishes like chili quellis without loss of crunch. Suggestion - heat the chips before serving in a microwave or in a warmer so customers get a home made experience. Finally, your taco of the month. Excellent, but the oil is too hot and cooked too fast for the falafel, it is tasting a bit oil burned on the outside and underdone "loose" on the inside.
